I wanted something very simple, very sober, and very meaningful. So I revisited mentally that moment in time before I got married, and asked myself: what was, and is, the ESSENCE of love? Well, after nearly twenty years of marriage, my conclusion is this: "for better or for worse"--- in Italian: "nel bene e nel male". So the embroidered heart shape on the front of this pouch is traced by these very important, very beautiful words.

MATERIALS: 100% recycled: white piquet cotton (an ex handtowel of my husband's grandmother!), powder-blue thread (for the embroidery), lilac zipper (the only piece of "new" material, apart from my sewing thread!), shiny white inner polyester lining
This pouch is very useful for carrying around any of your small belongings such as your cellphone, car keys, pack of tissues, lipbalm, coin purse, or as a smaller pouch within a larger handbag (for cosmetics etc.)
NOTE ABOUT THE PICTURES:
I always try to document the making of my creations, so that you get an idea of the process and can see the transformation that has occurred between beginning and end, between the scraps (and seemingly "throw-away" stuff) and the finished product: something pleasing and beautiful. I find it to be the most fascinating aspect of handmade objects. You can see this in the last picture.
