This color woodcut print is one from our new woodcut series "THE DEEP BLUE SEA" and features a bright red submarine foraging in a kelp bed at the bottom of the sea. The retro style submarine (model name "Explorer Capsule 3000") has metallic gold headlights on full blast for clear ocean vision. Paper is a delicate, pale seashell pink.
This is NOT a digitally reproduced print. After drawing our original designs on birch plywood, we hand-carve the blocks. We print the finished woodblocks through a press onto paper in our living room printshop.
Due to popularity and interest, "Explorer Capsule 3000" has been reprinted in a 2nd Edition of 100 prints. Each print in the edition is signed, titled and numbered. The second edition is noted by a Roman numeral beside the print's edition number. Prints are packaged in clear, resealable sleeves with coroplast backing. Ready for gifting, propping up on a shelf, or safely transporting until framed!

FRAMING OPTION:
We can also affordably and archivally frame your purchase. Our frames are all custom built from Pennsylvanian hardwoods (cherry, oak, walnut, maple). We offer natural finishes and gallery-style white lacquered maple (very contemporary) and black lacquered oak. If you are interested in this option, just drop us a note!
