‘Orange Crush’ was inspired by the Westminster Dog Show seeing the poodles come out on the floor and realizing that I rarely see the Amber and Red coat poodles in the shows which I feel are the most beautiful. Of course all poodles are gorgeous, but after I watched the show, I sat down and created this beautiful orangish red colored poodle looking as cute and cuddly as possible standing there asking for nothing but love. The whiskers on ‘Orange Crush’ had to be made in gold toned to symbolize the way a poodle is accustomed to being pampered in the finest of all things dog. She is still made with high fire ceramics which I individually textured each strand of fur with a sponge and then covered with various glazes.

As with all my creations, Orange Crush is a handmade, signed, one-of-a-kind sculpture that can be copied, but not duplicated. Each piece is lovingly hand formed, as well as hand glazed with three to six coats to achieve the best color enhancement.
