Title: Tangelo Twinkles
In this edition of backlit drawings each one was made subconsciously, evoking emotions and distant memories. The nature of the materials, and the combination of markers on acrylic panel creates a nice range of painterly and graphic effects.
I use half-inch thick acrylic panel to additionally magnify the drawing; the panel is then mounted onto an industrial standard electrical box. Some boxes are painted to enhance the overall image while others are left raw.
The final result resembles a miniature but traditional light box. So, I took it one step further and removed each one of the circle access tabs located on the sides of the electrical box. When wall mounted, the light passes through the openings creating a gorgeous starburst pattern. The best results are produced with a 4 to 7 watt incandescent night light bulb.
Although I show these backlit drawings often mounted to the wall, they can be placed almost anywhere. In our apartment I like to keep one on my desk and another on my nightstand.
Note: These Greenpoint Tree drawings are one-of-kind and I do not reproduce hand made or print duplicates.
Each drawing on backlit acrylic panel comes ready to hang. And is plug & play ready, with an on/off switch and one incandescent light bulb.
