Mechanical Birdie v.2.0 is the second specimen of it's kind, and about two unique birds in this model have been created to date. They have evolved from Mechanical Birdie v.1.0 and have much more pronounced details, such as the prominent tail feathers, longer wings, more three dimensional panel details, and no goggles of any sort - just two LED lights as eyes.
He looks like metal, doesn't he? Actually, the entire thing is handsculpted from polymer clay and finished with mica powders for an awesome metallic effect. Every little detail is done by hand, such as the many rivets and panels that you see. He can have LED eyes, gears and watch innards, wind-up watch mechanisms, touches of gold, and all sorts of other details as well.
Yes - he can stand on his own. He's got two long wire legs that allow him to stand freely. The birdie balances by being at the center of gravity - he is slightly perked forward while his big feet evenly disperse his weight so that he may stand with no problems.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN ORDERING A CUSTOM MECHANICAL BIRDIE:
♥ Give me your colours! Do you prefer the worn steel/silver look or the antiqued brass look? Both look beautiful! I have all sorts of metallic colours - almost anything that you can think of.
♥ Give me your preferences! List any likes or dislikes you have when it comes to the components I add to the birdies. Generally all I need are the colours, and I will create you something unique, but if you have any little details that you want to see included, don't hesitate to let me know! Examples are: I'd like him to have two aquamarine LED eyes, gears on his back, a wind-up watch mechanism. Etc etc...

These birdies are extremely detailed, take a lot of love and labour, and are adorned with all sorts of findings! Each one has been glazed to keep them safe.
As soon as you and I have a colour/design figured out, it may take up to two weeks or so to create depending on how many other orders I have at the time. After your birdie has been created, I will send you pictures via Etsy Conversation or E-mail. After you have approved the design, it will be shipped. :)

This piece is about 3 1/2" tall. It is a freestanding sculpture that stands on two wire legs and feet.

Your creations come in a custesy little kraft chipboard box, and snuggly wrapped in tissue paper. It is shipped to your door in a recyclable padded kraft paper envelope, safely arriving with your name on it! You only pay shipping for the first item you buy, so get as much as you want if you want to save!
