My latest series is centered around forgotten girls of the Carnival. I wanted to create these doll-like characters, on a very shabby, graffiti like background. The first up is 'Dancing Delilah'.
Details: Created on a wood panel approx. 5.5" x 12".
(13cm x 30cm).
I wood burned the image first, then used various mixed media including acrylics, stamping, various papers including vintage, and pastel. I wanted the girl to stand out among the background, so she is finished with a satin varnish, while the background is finished with beeswax for a dreamy hazy effect.
Hanging hardware is attached to the back, as well as black ribbon, so painting is ready to hang right out of the box.
