I used an embroidery hoop (just under 5.5" in diameter) as a frame in which to mount the original artwork. The fabric selected is not stretched in the hoop in your traditional sense, instead I mounted the fabric to a sheet of hand cut and sanded Italian Poplar which has then been mounted to the embroidery frame, then the woodburned artwork has been mounted on top. The entire piece is then coated in an acid free fabric/wood safe finish. The back is signed (woodburned) and dated.
