The plates are individually hand built of porcelain and are about 4 by 3.5 inches. Each leaf is heart shaped and has raised veins and an undulating rim.
I glaze each piece in several shades of chartreuse, leafy green and pale aqua. A pearly white glaze over all gives the piece a nice satiny finish. Since I make the leafy dishes by hand, there are variations among them.
You'll see multiple leaves in one of photos. This listing is for one dish. If you'd like, I can send you pictures of the leaves that I have on hand at any particular time.
My studio overlooks my large perennial and annual garden, and the botanical influence is strong in my work. The color is painted with underglaze colors and fired to over 2200ยบ F in one of my electric kilns.
My work has been shown at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian, and is in the Corning Glassworks Executive Club collection, as well as in private collections across the country and abroad.
