I’ve wanted to make a tuxedo-inspired dress for the past two years but had no plans to do so until I crossed ways with this daintily striped wool that refused all resistance. After making one in gray and cream, I was tempted to explore other tantalizing color possibilities. Thus this coffee and cream confection was born. The full skirt is made from a olive brown striped wool and is combined with a creamy cotton jersey swathed with contrasting brown jersey and white top stitching. Highly compatible with loose fitting cardigans, blazers, and anything else you happened to pack. Slips on over your head for those nights when you are pressed for time. Accessorize with unanticipated hats, cursory winks, and very little discretion.
