Robe zips in front from the collar to apx. 12" above the hemline with a 40" industrial metal zipper, there's a sexy open walking vent at the lower front. Back hemline features a short train at the hemline. A same fabric sash belt is included. Long sleeves have wide pleats at the shoulders.
No front waistline seam to interfer with the long verticle darts to make the waist fitted. The back has a center waistline.
My 1937-38 catalog shows this same style robe but in a different color. No label present.
This robe is totally wearable as it is but I'm sorry to say that it does have several issues, it's such a cute piece I decided to list it anyway and it's priced accordingly. Perhaps a theater group can use it, so here's a list of issues;
1.Both sleeves have some dark splotchy stains,looks like watered down ink, I almost missed them since they tend to blend into the fabric, if you want photos I'll try to capture them.
2. Lower skirt front has a long, horizontal, straight line mend beginning apx. 12" up from the hemline and apx. 4" over from the bottom of the zipper, this mend is about 12" in length and reaches around to the backside. See photo,
3. Several small sewn mends in various places, the largest of these is about 3/8" in length. A few pink stains on the floral print fabric of the train. The train hemline has been hemmed up then the hem let out again which left some pin holes. There may be a few small holes that I missed but it wasn't for a lack of looking for them! Hand washed and pressed at the time of listing.
Bust 40", does fit a friend with a 38" bust not tight but snug, so up to 36" might be a better fit but please see other measurements for proper fit.
Neck to waist in back 15 1/2"
Sleeve length 23" from shoulder to wrist
Total length in front 53"
Total length in back at tip of train 60"
