About This Item
Father's Day gift. One of a kind paper cutout made by hand using an original vintage dictionary page. Original paper cut art by PaperCutWorks.
{Father} definition. Part of my paper cut series dedicated to the love of written word and language.
This one-of-a-kind paper cut design was made using a page from an old dictionary and mounted to a wooden display block on black background. Unlike my solid paper pieces it's a freehand cut out, and features an interpretation of a heart's anatomy carefully extracted from an original dictionary page with an x-acto knife.
As is the case with all heart cuts outs by PaperCutWorks this piece is one-of-a-kind.
Wooden blocks make unique sturdy art pieces - you can display them sitting on a shelf or hanging on the wall. The cradled birch block frames I use for this series measure 4" by 4" and are 1" thick. Paper cut art is mounted to black card stock and a wooden panel frame. To finish the look and make it appear canvas-like, I use a paint brush to apply a protective sealant.
