Extravagant, yes, almost frightening in its extravagance.
With the new BAO challenge 'A Novel Idea' asking for a piece inspired by a story and the glut of Twilight 'inspired' pieces that hold little resemblance to anything actually described in the series, I simply couldn't resist.
The rope is ndebele (tubular herringbone) woven from tiny solid brass beads. It's about .5" in diameter-- about as thick as my little finger. The Swarovski crystal is literally the size of a golf ball. The findings and clasp are also solid brass.
This is ostentatious, no doubt. It's also a killer piece of jewelry that will last forever.
To make it sit close to the throat as described in Stephanie Meyer's 'Breaking Dawn', I kept it short-- 15.5". I can make you one to order in any size you need.
