These labels were featured in the January 2010 edition of Real Simple Weddings - see additional photo.
This listing is for two custom embroidered grosgrain ribbon labels for the groom who would enjoy having his tie as a keepsake from the wedding.
These black grosgrain ribbons will be embroidered with initials or phrase and the date of your wedding. Use one label for the groom and one for the best man or father of the groom (the text on the two ribbons can be different). The ends of the ribbon are pinked (cut in a zig-zag) to avoid fraying. These are generally tucked under the label when you or your seamstress sews it onto the lining of your tie - or they can be stitched in place with the pinked edges showing. Placement would generally be adjacent to the label provided by the manufacturer of the tie (or could replace that label).
1. Narrow Ribbon or Wide Ribbon
narrow ribbon = two lines of text
wide ribbon = three lines of text
(In the Real Simple photographed example, the bride chose a wide ribbon with two lines of text. The initials on the WIDE ribbon span two lines. The lettering on a narrow ribbon will be smaller)
(Both ribbons in the pair must be the same color and width)
The text should be short to avoid the label being too long for the tie.
2. The format for your initials. You can either embroider the initials in the order:
first initial - FAMILY INITIAL - middle initial
(family initial will be larger and in the middle)
first initial - middle initial - family initial
(all letters the same size).
3. Your thread color. We can match your wedding colors or a swatch, just contact us!
4. Ribbon color. We now can offer black, grey or navy blue, white or ivory. If you would prefer a different color, please let me know and I will try to make that happen!
Please specify these details when you order.
