This is probably one of the most common yet misunderstood spiders we see in and around our homes. They are often mistaken for brown recluse because they have what many believe to be that "violin" shaped back. I cannot tell you how many died due to pure ignorance on my part around my home.

Wolf spiders are beneficial not harmful. They are amazing creatures. They kill the pests that really gross us out. They are probably the best exterminator out there and it expects no payment just more food.

The female wolfie will carry her egg sac for several weeks, everywhere she goes. Then after her young are hatched she carries them on her back (hundreds of them) for another 2-3 weeks. She is the mother of all working moms!!
