A reproduction of a Victorian Vampire Hunter's Kit, in miniature, housed in a binder's board chest covered with brown and gold French marbled paper and decorated with brass jewelry findings. The chest is lined with dark red antique satin bookcloth and paper printed with old architectural drawings., and has a label reading, 'Jos. Nightingale & Sons, Supernatural and Metaphysical Supplies, No.167.' The lid of the chest contains a mallet with a leather-wrapped handle, a pewter cross, likewise, and three sharpened stakes. None of these are removable.
The body of the chest is divided into three sections and has a drop-down front covered with black kid leather. The sections contain a journal (blank), a Holy Bible (also blank inside). Tucked within the pages of the Bible is a tiny blood-stained letter written by the previous owner. The middle section contains two glass vials with wrapped leather lids: one of holy water and the other a blood sample labeled, 'Blood Sample, taken Sept. 4, 1896, Rohnhaven, Bavaria'. The fold-down front has an attached folder of Bavarian maps. All the contents of the body of the chest are removable. Designed and constructed by miniature book artist Pat Sweet.
