This beautiful set came from a collection I have that I bought at a estate sale. Wow, the color !! The photos just don't do it justice. The Green/Red color with the hand painted flowers, all in a opalescent paint with accents and a sparkle in the paint. The whole cup and Saucer is pearlized inside and out. The cup is so thin you can see light through it. Traditional Japanese painting. This one will stand out in any collection !

****Of the Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. The use of the word "Shoten" indicates the name for a shop which is selling products from its own kiln. In either case they seems to have went out of business in 1947. This mark likely to be from the 1920-30's. (got this of the site that shows the symbol on the bottom of the cup and what it means)
