About the art work:
The inspiration for this series of works came from admiration of the vastness of the skies above, on a day when I recently visited the ocean. Full of ever-changing clouds formations and colours my imagination was ignited and the energy of nature ran through me.
For many years throughout history, culture and art the skies and their clouds have acted as a symbol of the ethereal heights of heaven and represented the quality of higher truth.
Whatever you beliefs, one thing is for sure. Clouds are symbols of change. Clouds constantly come and go, and they tend to move fast.
They also reflect, evoke and personify human emotion with their ever-changing moods, colour, form and movement.
We all have memories of looking up to the skies with clouds and tapping into our subconscious, either imagining what shapes the clouds are forming, or being in awe of the powers and mystery of mother nature. From magnificent formations where you literally can hear a beautiful piece of classical music playing in your mind or experiencing goosebumps from the powerful forces of mother nature as storms brewed, formed, delivered and then cleared.
Perhaps, like me you have spent many a hour pondering the meaning of life and solving the problems of your world whilst gazing to the heavens.
It is therefore apt that this subject matter was chosen to deliver the story of this series "My Sky is Torn".
From a dark, 'noir' and dramatic place in the first image through to the colourful and theatrical skies of image two, and then onto the blue skies with the clouds starting to part in image three, you are taken on a transitional journey of emotional turmoil and transformation, to one of change and eventually hope. The storm is moving away and there is hope and promise of a light filled future away beyond the torn sky.

The aim in my art work is to directly communicate with the viewer’s subconscious. I hope you enjoy and can perhaps relate to my art as I share with you part of what is intrinsic to each and every one of us within on some level.
