I created this painting for a financial article that I was in for USAA Magazine. The article was about retirement and they asked me to paint a painting that represented how I saw my future retirement. Working for a retirement company for my day job and writing a book about creating a stable and comfortable retirement (on shelves September 2010--woohoo!), I have learned a lot about retirement, Social Security, and other retirement investments. So I see my retirement in a favorable light because I've witnessed and researched retirement pitfalls and successes firsthand. Hence the title of the piece: A Bright Future.
A Bright Future was created in about 15 layers, which were then sanded back to create the finished product, on a 16 x 20 canvas board (not stretched--will look best framed). It will fit in any regular 16 x 20 frame at your local stores (I found a great one at Target for the photo shoot, though we didn't end up using it--see 4th image for actual framing photo). It looks amazing when it's framed! The colors really pop, especially if you choose a black frame!
Painting will come with a copy of the page that it appeared on in the magazine and is signed and dated in the bottom corner by Sara.
