In traditional Cherokee folklore, corn was a gift from Creator given through Selu, Grandmother Corn. In the story, the corn is given through Selu who gives her life so that all might live. We all have a soul-song to sing. Selu sang of survival, nurture, courage, and love.
The corn beads used in this bracelet grow on a tall plant and form in beautiful earthy tones and are strung traditionally with glass seed beads. This 18" necklace features red yellow and orange---the colors of vibrant spirit and courage. Also black beads---which represents introspection---looking deep within to find purpose and balance. Also, blue beads, the color of peace and honorable thought, and green, the color of growth and new life. All the colors of the rainbow! This necklace features clasp unlike traditional Cherokee necklaces.
May Selu's strength and generosity be in your heart!
