Golden fish, swimming in the soft sea green currents of the waves. So pretty as a serving dish or hung on the wall as decoration.
This stoneware plate was thrown on the wheel and then the rim was altered to bend and swirl like the curls of a wave.
A fish was carved and then, after it's first firing it was glazed in a transparent celadon blue green.
It was then fired again to a high cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit) in our electric kiln.
A THIRD GOLD firing was then done using 24 carat gold on the fish, grass and bubbles. This gold costs $23 for 2 grams, but is worth every penny:>)
Great for entertaining, as a gift or just as a home decor piece.
This tray would make a lovely decorator item but will come into its own when used in serving foods. Think...,Cheese and Crackers, toasted sandwiches, Chess Rolls, cookies, and of course..... SUSHI.
This 9" white stoneware platter is food safe, but all gold items do best if hand washed and do not put gold into the microwave.
