I made these deliciously delicate but decidedly bold earrings from pink dyed marabou feathers and oval white jade beads that I wire-wrapped onto lengths of sterling silver oval curb link chain attached to a bar of non-tarnish silver plated Artistic Wire.
More white jade beads, seed beads that complement the pink feathers, and a Bali-like silver-plated pewter spacer with a butterfly motif are threaded onto the cross-bar.
I wire-wrapped more of the oval curb link chain to white jade beads and seed beads on Artistic Wire to connect the earrings to sterling silver ear wires (I replaced the ear wires with new ones after completion of photography).
Each earring measures approximately 6” (15.24cm) in length and is approximately 2” (5.08cm) wide at the base of the beads; depending upon how much you fluff out the feathers, width may reach up to 5” (12.7cm).
NOTE: Model IS human sized! It’s little old me and I’m 5’4” with a rather short neck, but I received rave compliments when I wore these on a short series of errands yesterday after the shoot. I’ve had requests for these in different colors, so if you have a special request, just convo me, or check back later to see what I dream up.
