The classic shirtdress, '50s-style! This 1957 vintage pattern from Simplicity includes full-skirted and slim versions. View 2, with the full skirt, is sleeveless, and cut to take advantage of a striped fabric, with the button placket and skirt front band cut cross-grain. The skirt is softly pleated and has on-seam pockets. View 1 features a slim skirt with fabulous pockets trimmed with buttoned bands. It's got short sleeves with turned-up cuffs. A soft cotton twill or crisp linen would be perfect for this, or try a madras, both snappy and cool...
This pattern is missing the piece for the collar - although it's not too tricky to draft a replacement for that. It's otherwise complete and cut. This is a half-size pattern, so perfect for those with a shorter build.
The top of the envelope is tatty, with both corners torn and a tear that extends across the top of the illustration. There's also a tear on the back, but it misses the yardage chart.
