This piece is an homage to the book page, where so much knowledge, imagination and magic reside! All hand embroidered on delicate, creamy handmade paper dipped in beeswax, the text is an abstraction of green boxes with blue lines in the middle. Each box is a different length, like words on a page. A small illustration rests quietly in the bottom right corner--a sewn bowl, full to overflowing, serves as a metaphor for everything the book represents for me. The contents are tiny, overlapping stitches of many colors mixed together--delightful!
This piece measures approximately 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" and will come mounted with a bristol board backing, ready for you to frame as you desire!
Please remember the beeswax will make the piece delicate, so keep away from direct heat and the hot sun!
