The house is hand cut from ¼” high grade plywood; all components of the house are handmade by the artist. All fabrics are frail silks and delicate soft cottons. All furniture and accessories are hand crafted.
The walls of the cottage are half timbered and half rock. Fireplaces are rock with faux finish. The roof is heavily thatched with authentic corn straw bundles. The entire house is painted many times to achieve museum quality patinas and aging. This house is of heirloom quality suited for the adult collector but certainly may be played with by thoughtful children.
Each cottage is landscaped with natural mosses and a variety of dried and silk flowers we collect from all over the world. It sits upon our all naturally landscaped signature base of wood and river rock (felt lined bottom) of 19” by 22”. The completed dollhouse assemblage is 23” tall at the tip of the chimney.
Poppy’s Cottage features mood lighting by Tomytec LED lights (not Christmas lights) battery operated.
