We've decided to print some of our most popular, larger tie onto some amazing hand-woven, Fair-Trade* silk scarves! Just like the ties, we hand-screen them all in our Detroit studio.
This is a soft, extremely lightweight gauzy and delicate scarf, measuring about 13.5" x 69" + knotted fringe. Note: minor imperfections are part of the charm and character of handcrafted silk.
* We are very concerned about the material quality and working conditions from which obtain the fabric we print on.
So what is Fair Trade?
Our scarves are handwoven in Thailand. "Fair Trade" creates relationships between producers, traders and consumers in a manner that ensures that goods producers work in safe conditions, are paid fair wages, and are mindful of the environment. Fair Trade sourced products contribute to sustainable development by offering better conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers especially in exports from developing countries to developed countries.
