It has a glass tube filled with blue water and mineral oil. Inside the tube is a UV blacklight LED that lights up while it's plugged in. It also has a glass window to look inside the body and see a large quartz crystal. The crystal takes on a faint blue glow while sitting idle and flashes red while transfering data.
I've distressed the surface to give it the look and feel of a true antique. People who handle my pieces often think they're antiques. I never use plastic or paint in my USB drives.
I only use high quality name brand USB cards in my drives.
This will stay leak free. I built the fluid filled tube seperately. Each end is plugged and epoxied with an underwater epoxy made for plumbing. The epoxy is made to hold copper water pipes under pressure so it's really overkill. It's epoxied and capped again on both sides when installed into the drive. The fluid is not going anywhere. The glass tube is also very thick and strong.
