Handmade red shot with black silk dupioni pillbox hat. The hat has black veiling with chenille dots that falls right below the nose when worn, or can be pulled up as a halo of veiling to sit above the eyes. The veiling sprigs up in the back and features a black satin bow in the middle. The tails on the bow fall to about the shoulders.

Everything is hand sewn on this piece, and contains a red silk plaid lining. There is also an elastic band to keep it on. This hat is made to perch, rather than sit low on the head.

The hat itself is a buckram frame molded on a pillbox hat block. I use wire along the bottom edge to help it hold its shape, followed by a layer of fleece for the smooth finish and the silk on top of that. Everything is hand sewn securely, you won't find any glue on this thing!
