The center drop is solid gilt brass and it has seed pearls, carnelian and blue sapphires in it. From that hangs this marvelous drop that measures 3" ( includes the cross). You won't find pieces like this anymore and it is more amazing when you see it in person.Each stone is in a collet setting with rough-cut cabochon stones, which were all hand set, using very crude tools, that is why most pieces are compared to the renaissance era. The clasp was replaced as the original which would have had markings on it was gone. The pendant is marked on the back.. I can't make it out except it starts with AU.
THe necklace measures 16" long around the neck. A rare treasure that would never have been duplicated because all these were hand wrought and by order only.
Due to the fact this can never be replaced it will have to be insured whether it is shipped in the US or globally.
