This beautiful, handsewn journal is just waiting for you to fill it!
Created with rescued bookcovers from a rare 1878 book called A Fool's Errand, By One of The Fools, this is a sewn-over-tapes journal, which means it is sturdy, but will lay flat when open. I used strong, soft garment leather recycled from a clothing manufacturer for the edging on the boards and for the three tapes. The book is sewn with strong, black, waxed linen thread and the pages are hand torn to blend with the aged book covers. Black Artagain recycled paper serves as dividers for each signature.
The book is the perfect size to go anywhere with you! It measures 6.75in x 4.5in, and is about 3/4 of an inch thick. The smooth white pages are 65lb acid-free paper, and there are 120 pages total in the book. The book closes with a black leather tie that is woven under the stitches at the spine.
I began doing these for myself, and loved doing them so much that I decided to offer them in my shop for other journalers out there. If you want a specific color, or size, or even time period, feel free to contact me and we can design the perfect journal for you.
