An amazing vintage Cathrineholm Lotus enamel casserole pot in unusual chocolate brown color. This is a very large casserole - we've measured it and it easily holds 4-5 quarts, and will fit 6 quarts when filled up to the rim.
Comes complete with lid and detachable cradle. The casserole is brown with the lotus pattern in white, while the bottom is a solid black enamel color. This is the Grete Prytz Kittelson design that everyone loves - famously used in Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals show on the Food Network. We haven't seen this size of casserole too frequently, and the brown color seems harder to find.
In excellent vintage condition - no damage and very few marks or scratches to the enamel. Interior white enamel does have a few marks, but we would classify them as very minor compared to other casseroles we have seen. Rim of pot has a little bit of wear and tiny bit of rust, but we would hesitate to call them chips or fleabites. Please remember, this pot is enamel and therefore you should use a lot of caution if using as an everyday casserole pot. It will chip quite easily and scratch if scrubbed with anything other than a sponge!
Marked on the bottom with the Cathrineholm of Norway mark and text. Also marked on the reverse side of the lid knob with "Cathrineholm Made in Norway".
This Cathrineholm casserole pot measures about 10 1/2 inches across and 13 1/2 inches including handles. About 4 3/4 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches including lid.
