These are absolutely stunning as a wedding or dinner party table decoration, clustered around your home or office, or to add some contemporary Chinese style to your lunar new year decorations. Each one has its own character and style, and they look even better grouped together.
These luminaries are delivered to you packed flat, with double sided tape applied and ready to assemble. They have one paper cut on each sleeve, and each sleeve fits around a tea light candle, or re-chargeable / battery operated candle. In every set I mix up themes and subjects, which makes each set unique: it feels more like an inherited treasure or a long assembled collection. Although there is continuity in colour and form, each papercut is completely unique. If you would prefer your luminaries to feature one theme only, just let me know, and I can make them up for you.
This listing is for 6 pieces of my unassembled single tea light luminaries: they measure 4.5 cm / 1.77 inches across the sleeve when assembled, which is the right size to fit over a standard tea light candle, (please check your tea lights to make sure these will fit! If you need them to be larger, or smaller, just let me know and I will happily make some up to fit your candles!). They will be shipped to you packed flat. The luminaries are 11 cm / 4.33 inches high when assembled. The set pictured above is representative of the sorts of paper cuts I use: they are all different, but if you would like a particular theme, just let me know!
They are easy to assemble, dont worry. They come with double sided tape already applied, so all you need to do is peel and stick them neatly.
**I have used these with plain tea light candles and with rechargeable tea lights: both are perfect, However , as with all candles, please take care and do not leave burning candles unsupervised!
**As these velum sleeves rest around the candle, they are not suitable for use in windy conditions.
**These traditional chinese paper cuts use traditional chinese papercut paper - it is not waterfast. Do not get it wet or the colour will run.
** when unlit, the vellum sleeve is a translucent white. When lit, the luminary glows with golden candlelight.
