Blood Orange: I start with my Perfect Pumpkin colorway (mellow peach-pumpkin, medium pumpkin, and burnt pumpkin oranges) and then I add deep vermillion to give it that blood orange redness. This colorway looks good with Perfect Pumpkin, and I've shown the two of them together in photo 5.
The base yarn is 100% wool that has been mercerized. This is the process used to make wool yarns satiny, smooth and machine washable. This yarn is merino soft and has a lovely hand and drape, and excellent stitch definition. I have knit with it myself, and it is lovely.
100% Mercerized Wool
100g/200yds/per skein
18-20st=4" on 4.5-5.0mm needles
This is an excellent yarn for sweaters, hats, scarves, mittens socks, children's items, baby blankets, afghans, shawls, and anything else you can think of. I can wear it next to my skin. It is nice and soft.
Hand wash or Machine Wash in cool or lukewarm water on gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry (recommended) or tumble dry on low.
I hand-dye all my yarns one at a time, with care and attention to detail. I live in a non-smoking, dog/cat-free home.
Packages ship within three business days of receipt of payment. Please read my profile box for details on my policies.
I ship surface/ground to the US and Canada. This is the cheapest rate available from Canada, and most packages arrive in one to two weeks.
**International/Overseas Buyers Only: Shipping rates listed are for Airmail. Surface/Ground takes two to three months, but Airmail typically takes one to three weeks. If you prefer the cheaper method of shipping and don't mind a really long wait, I can refund you the difference between Airmail and surface and ship it that way instead. Surface rates are usually the same as those listed to the US.
