I have been thinking about this listing for the last 12 hours. I considered jumping in on the latest craze sweeping Etsy. If you haven't heard about it, you have been off visiting another planet. The latest craze is to tag everything "steampunk". Even if it looks like something Neville 'Noogie' Lamont from Miami Vice would wear tag it "steampunk".
Apparently the goal is to get notice by Regretsy's Helen Killer aka April Winchell and be featured on her site or maybe her next book. This is apparently the game, if you get on her site you then come on Etsy and cry how mean she is and direct people over to all the mean comments. People will hopefully feel sorry for you (yeah I fell for it big time), go to your shop and either buy something from you or say something nice about your stuff. It is away to get attention. What's that old saying, "negative attention is better than no attention at all"?
I thought about tagging this "steampunk" so I could join the crowd and be on the Regretsy site but I just couldn't do it. If I had the photophop skills I would have put a spiky leather jacket on Charlie with knee high boots and a cool metal eye-patch. Then I would have dressed Clarkie (she's a girl which we did not know when we named her so cut me some slack) up as "Tank Girl". Gosh darn it not only do I not have the skills to do this but then it would be "steampunk" and not really have served any purpose to get on Regretsy.
Now since I have been sick all week and have gotten little sleep perhaps Regretsy still has a chance to poke fun at any typos so hey maybe I still have that chance after all ;o).
Make sure to check out the picture of Charlie smiling here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/17500215/dont-worry-be-happy-8x12-photograph I always wondered why he was smiling all the time. I guess now I know.
