It is a rich gold tone metal with a raised relief and an etched floral pattern. The handles are substantial in weight, and of excellent quality, as are the tools.
The set comes complete with a shoe horn, letter opener, nail file, tweezers, cuticle scissors, cuticle pusher, nail polisher, blade type cutter, two compacts, and one other implement that I am unsure as to what it is for.
In all, a total of 11 pieces that are in excellent shape, except for 1 compact that I can not open. The lid of that compact seems to be jammed closed on one side, and I did not want to force it open for fear of damaging it. The other compact is in working order, with no issues other than having some age spots or blackening on the mirror in the center, which is typical of a set this old.
There is no pitting, tarnish or signs of wear to any of these implements.
I could find no makers hallmark on this set, but it is a fabulous vintage find, and in excellent condition. I would guess it to be from the early 1900's.
This set would make a lovely display for your vanity or dresser, and would make a fabulous gift for the vintage collector.
