The blank pages are nice, heavy 140 gsm middleweight Velata paper from the Cartier Magnani mill in Italy. This subtly textured, ivory paper holds up great to markers, collage and paint, although it will curl a bit with heavy watercolor. The pages are all hand torn for soft, deckled edges rather than sharp machine cuts. I prefer the more "handmade" look this gives the finished product.
The cover is paired with custom marbled paper which I created especially to compliment the book and use for the end papers and signature covers. The first signature cover forms a pocket made from sturdy card stock to hold any mementos you may wish. The closure is made from a bright green button.
