This Cameo is Made by an artist in the Wounaan Tribe of Panama. It is signed and numbered, and will come with a certificate of Authenticity including the artists name. The back of the cameo is also signed, another reason we designed this fork to hold the cameo with the back exposed.
We shaped the top of the Lignum Vitae wood hairfork to echo the leaf that the little gecko is alighted upon in the cameo. THe beauty of this cameo is so hard to capture in photos, let alone 5. The portfolio of pictures is here for you to view

The decorative top is approximately 21/2 inches(6.5cm) across. Its functional prong length is 4 3/4 inches(12.5cm) and its overall length is 7 inches(17.8cm).The color of the wood is as hard to capture as the beauty of the cameo! it is a dark olive green, with very chatoyant golden graining.

It is also very comfortable on the head! it has a curve for where it will sit below your bun against your head, as well as a curve in the leaf to allow the cameo to glow in the light.
This fork is finished and sealed. It should not need any maintenanace. You can oil it if it apprears to have the need.
We make each of these by hand so we will gladly accomodate requests for longer/shorter tines.We use a pattern that we designed so that you know if you order another it will be very close to the same shape. We also do custom embellishing , if you would like a different stone or something carved.An addtional fee may apply.

How to care for your wooden hair toys!
1. Do not store them in the sun ,that includes in the car or by a window. But wear them in the sun and be happy!
2. Do not drop them!
3. Do not use them as a screwdriver or paint can opener!
4.They are natural wood, they CAN break. put as little sideways pressure as possible on them. WE do take hair pressures into account and under normal hair updos they should be fine, including lots of hair!
5.Do not let the dog have it!;0)
6.Even though they are sealed and would weather rain or damp hair ,do not swim or shower in them!
7.ENJOY!
If your hair toy from us breaks for seemingly no reason, please send the parts back and if it is not salvageable we will replace it, you just pay the shipping. If you drop or break it we will salvage it for a small fee or give a discount on a new one if it is not salvageable. We understand that life, kids, pets, and accidents happen! (salvageable would be, for example, to turn a broken 3 tine fork into a 2 tine and a single stick. We do not feel that a glue-up would always be an acceptable way to save a fork.We are now doing reinforced tops though and in some cases this would be possible thanks to the genius woodworking of Stacy!)
