The "Harlow" Necklace is an elegant vintage confection with rich, deep blue hues that really allow the gold tones to glow.
The necklace is composed of LARGE, faceted London blue topaz rondelles - each linked together with hand-wrapped loops. A gorgeous 18K gold vermeil bead, set with chocolate rhinestones and accented with two faceted moonstone rondelles sits dramatically off to one side of the neckline.
The "Harlow" features a vintage Art Nouveau locket with design elements personifying the era. The gold filled long oval locket has a sensuous folding design at the top centered with a large crystal clear paste set rhinestone. A swirling design flows from the bottom with an engraved star pattern studded with paste set jewels at the end of the rays. Inside, the locket bears two compartments for holding photos. Excellent condition - only two of the rhinestones have darkened over time and the backside of the locket has some "dimpling" on its smooth surface. These small imperfections do not detract from the beauty of the design.
The necklace closes with a gold fill toggle clasp that is accented with two more faceted moonstone rondelles hand-linked just beside the closure.
Measurements-
Locket: Slightly over 2 inches long. (The total "drop" of the necklace is longer as the topaz rondelles create a "Y" shape just above the locket - see photos for details.)
Gemstone neckline: 16 3/4 inches long
