The ancient Europeans believed that the seahorse carried the souls of deceased sailors on safe passage to the underworld. While, Chinese cultures believed the seahorse was a sea dragon, and revered it for the bringing of power and good luck. Sailors have long viewed the seahorse as a good luck charm too.
