*it measures approx 4 feet around the brim. I am mistaken and it really is not a straw hat...upon further inspection it looks like a stiffened lace.
hope that helps... it really is a beautiful hat and if you enlarge the photo i think you will be able to see what I mean. it is nice and supple.
