"Yad" is the Hebrew word for hand, and it is also a pointer used while reading from the Torah. This silver yad is handcrafted from PMC, precious metal clay.
For custom yads you can pick want written on the ribbon which wraps around the yad. For Bar and Bat Mitzvahs customers most often have the name of the person and date of the simcha put on the yad. The words must be in English. You can email me (through email conversations) to go over what you want paersonalized. There may be some limitations on the amount of words.
You can also choose the finishes and details you want on your custom yad. There is an optic circle or hebrew scripture texture. There is a carved hand pointer or a simpler more modern pointer. There are many finial options, jewish stars, spiral wires and maybe other ideas you might have. Email me and I will work with you.
Yads measure about 6" long. It feels comfortable in your hand. This yad would make a very special Bar or Bat Mitzvah gift.
Personalized yads come in a complementary leather like jewelry box.
My designs are very organic and not perfect looking on purpose. They have dings and fine lines that I think adds character. This is a totally unique design, so if I ever make another one like it, it will never be exactly alike.
A little about PMC....
Precious metal clay (PMC) is a revolutionary material that has tiny particles of silver or gold suspended in an organic binder to make a material that can be sculpted like clay. It is then kiln fired at a high temperature to remove the binder and produces an object that is pure silver (.999)
