Glowing buttons of figured Maple, distinctively bisected by a deep band of Purpleheart, which in turn is accented with the slightest hint of Mahogany. Viewed from the side finds the same fine line of rich reddish brown tracing its way completely around the perimeter and finishing off the reverse. These one of a kind button post earrings are elegant in their simplicity; simple in their contrast; and striking in their elegant, uncluttered lines.

Mounted on surgical steel posts and backs, these petite pieces are 3/16” (5mm) thick and 5/8” (16mm) in diameter; slightly smaller than a dime is round. The wood is adhered ti the surgical steel with epoxy; not hot glue or super glue. They will NOT come apart; just don't ask me how it is that I am so certain.

These easy to wear, lightweight posts are finished by thoroughly soaking in a deeply penetrating, clear, Danish oil; once dry they are hand polished to a glowing luster; and finally topped with several hand rubbed coats of high quality paste wax.

The vivid colors you see are those of the natural wood, there were no stains, paints, pigments or dyes used; and as a result, the colors will not fade. Over the decades these buttons will develop a rich, warm patina......but they will not fade.
