This is a print of my original painting of a cobalt-blue skull with monarch butterfly wings framing its eye sockets. Tender green leaves and fragrant flowers populate its forehead, adorning it.
The print is not mounted and the coated paper it was printed on is very thin and lightweight so it could be used on your own projects.
the last picture is of the print over the original and to the right.
As Day of the Dead approaches I finally get to work on some of my favorite projects! I love this Mexican tradition and have always had a bit of an obsession with it.
It's such a magical time of the year in México. We have beautiful offerings, tables with a colorful feast in dedication of a lost loved one with marigold petal paths leading to each offering, frankincense burning and papel picado banners. Written calavera offerings, which are verses in rhyme taunting a friend or any given person and traditional songs to go out to gather more items for the offering.
