Apple wood buttons (red card) are 11/16" wide and are approximately 1/8" thick.
Cedar of Lebanon buttons (gold card) range between 13/16” and 14/16” wide and are approximately 1/8” thick.
All buttons are made from cuttings of living trees. They are the result of essential pruning and thinning. Trees are helped and not harmed during this process. Pruning and cutting is a yearly task undertaken by me, my husband, and my father.
The wood was given time to cure and dry naturally before it was cut into rings by Dad. Button holes were hand drilled by Mom. The making of these buttons was truly a family affair!
No stains or paint has been used –just pure wood. Buttons can be painted or stained by you in order to match clothing or projects, or simply use them as is.
Since these buttons are all natural and not synthetic some natural variation will occur with the size, shape, and color of the buttons. Just like snowflakes, each is unique and one of a kind.
