Odelle’s Opera Dreams Is a One Of A Kind Sculpture made by artist Marcie Hart.
Made from a lump of clay, the doll is sculpted in detail with a special blend of fimo polymer clay over a reinforced armature.
Everything you see here has been created piece by piece from scratch, using only the finest materials.
Molds are never used.
Stunning blue glass paperweight eyes, berry red lips and gorgeous long eyelashes applied one by one.
Black velvet ribbon choker
Odelle sits inside of a shadow box lined with black flocked and glittered side walls.
Vintage rhinestone broaches and red tulle accent the
Black wooden scroll work above and below the box.Delicately sculpted hands and fingernails hold her program and binoculars.
Her program was taken from an actual vintage opera paper.
A tiny ring rests upon her index finger.
The hat is made from red and black vintage fabrics,
ribbons and feathers from an antique pattern.
Tiny hand made shoes and stockings made from the same gorgeous brocade as her dress.
Black bows and antique gold buttons accent the shoes.
Black netting petticoat. Beautiful antique rhinestone broach,
red tulle, and black French ribbons adorn the top of the box. The inside of the shadow box is menagerie of vintage images such as a old French postcard, page from an actual opera Potpourri Nell’ Opera, postcard of the Eifel Tower in France,
and a black and white photo of a opera stage.
A brocade and silk stool made especially for Odelle to sit upon. This is a large piece made to hang on a wall or to display as a showcase piece.
The box measures approx. 13” x 18” by 6” deep.
The doll is 16-18” seated.
I love working with gorgeous fabrics and this beautiful black and red rose brocade is just stunning!
The dress is very elegant and poufs out as she is sitting.
Rich colors of red, golden green and black shimmer in the light.
A piece of antique metallic lace is peeping out of the front of the dress.
French red ribbons accent the sleeves, waist, and back of her couture dress which has been completely lined.
Auburn mohair locks fall softly around her face and back.
Odelle is made to sit in her shadow box or she can be completely removed if you prefer to be placed in a different setting.

Each piece incorporates different techniques I have learned in my years of sculpting. A piece that is mere inches is created much differently than a larger 27” piece incorporating many different sculpting and costuming techniques. I have been sculpting since the early 90's and I strive to make pieces that are truly unique and magical for my collectors by paying close attention to the smallest details and accessories that make each piece unique. I like to have my pieces brimming with little antique collectibles, fabrics, fanciful ribbons and special touches that help to shape and define each character. There may be similarities from time to time but never is there a duplicate. I always use the finest materials available so that my collectors will enjoy my work for years to come. My work has been featured in Dolls Magazine, Contemporary Doll Magazine, Susanna Oroyan's "Designing the Doll Book" and other various publications. Each piece comes Signed with a Certificate of Authenticity and Care Instructions and will be shipped double boxed to arrive safely. I do my best to provide safe shipping practices but, if the unfortunate should happen I will work with the buyer to come to an acceptable agreement.
