The bed accommodates any size cat or small dog, with space to stretch out fully or curl up snugly in the corner. The bed has easily passed weight tests of up to 24 pounds.

This bed is covered in like-new vintage upholstery fabric, a cotton velvet that varies in color -- due to its nap and high sheen -- from golden avocado to mustardy chartreuse. These photos were taken in natural light, but in fluorescent light the color appears less yellowy and more bright spring green. This fabric is heavy and densely woven, so it’s tough-wearing and not easy to snag. The base is stained a dark walnut tone and polished with a wax finish.
Shown modeling the bed is Homer, a 9-pound former feral who’s now a darling loverboy. After these photos his shed hairs were, we hope, all removed.

Free fabric swatches are available by mail. All parts of the bed are meticulously hand-crafted in a smoke-free environment.
The bed’s padding is made from recycled vintage polyester/acrylic blankets. All the fabric and padding are prewashed.
The wood base is shipped unattached to the fabric bed. On the underside of the fabric bed are three cord loops which hook over three brass screws in the wood base. Assembly is practically instantaneous.
C L E A N I N G
For most cleaning and hair removal, brushing the fabric with a pet-hair roller makes the bed look new again. Spot cleaning can be done by gently rubbing the fabric with a soapy cloth and allowing it to air-dry.
For heavy cleaning, the wood base can be removed and the fabric bed can be immersed in a bathtub. It can drip dry outdoors or indoors, although drying takes longer in humid or cold conditions.
