The Black Butterfly Fairy Queen stands approximately 7 cm (2.75 inches) from her double-crown to the base (see photos 4 and 5 for a sense of scale). Her black cape is embroidered with golden-brown chain stitches in two different hues, and the base is a feather stitch embellished with French knots. The wings are double-thickness black felt edged with golden-brown thread. Her doll’s face is embroidered simply in the Waldorf tradition to encourage open, creative play.
The Black Butterfly Fairy Queen is appropriate for display and gentle play. This doll should be kept out of reach from pets and children who still put toys in their mouths (small parts may be a choking hazard). Recommended ages for this doll: 10 and up. The base of the doll is signed in thread with an “A.”
