Morgiana is the clever, faithful, female slave of Ali Baba in the tales of Arabian Nights: Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, who pries into the forty jars, and discovers that every jar, but one, contains a man. She takes oil from the only one containing it, and, having made it boiling hot, pours enough into each jar to kill the thief concealed there. At last she kills the captain of the gang while she performs an intriguing dance, and marries her master's son.
In the past I have done a piece under Morgiana’s name and thought of using her name again to portray this exquisite piece of earring. Although her character inspires me much, it was actually Virginia Frances Sterrett’s enchanting illustration that really aspire me to create this next piece I called Morgiana Danced with Much Grace. Her said illustration is shown on the last picture.
Morgiana comprise a beautiful flowery motive, fabricated from oxidized sterling silver 925 using different methods of wrapping techniques. It was very much time consuming and underwent a few modification before it reaches its final look. I have to say, I absolutely love the outcome because it’s full of lovely details that compliment so much with the color palette, and they sway gracefully together!
On each wing of the flowery frame, dangles elegantly the marquise-shape filigree pattern, my signature design that I love so much!
Below, just under the waterfalls of lovely rondelles hangs yet another marquise shape frame, embellished with a beautiful Purple Hydrothermal Quartz Briolettes and finely braided sterling silver. All wires are oxidized and polished to give them shine.
The gemstones I used are a mix combination of lovely:-
~ Amethyst & Citrine Rondelles
~ Gorgeous stone of AAA Platinum Mystic Garnet Briolette
~ Dashing Amethyst Faceted Briolette and
~ Beautiful Purple Hydrothermal Quartz Briolettes.
The earring measures approximately 1.25” wide and drops 2.5” from top of the stunning ear hook which I fabricate myself >_~ and it fit snuggly and comfortably on the earlobes.
