This past year when searching for a lunchbox to take to work, I was so disappointed in what was available. Ugly colors, huge coolers, and boring designs.
What I wanted was simple:
*something big enough for a healthy lunch
*small enough to squish up inside another bag
*easy to clean
*and something CUTE, duh.
So I made one myself!
I actually based this design off of a lunch sack I carried way back in high school. It measures about 10 inches tall, 8 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches deep. It's tall enough for a 20 ounce bottle of water or pop.
The bag itself is machine quilted (so it stands up on its own!) and is lined with a cotton batting. The white binding along the edges was hand sewn. Flap closes with velcro, and is finished up with a convenient cotton webbing handle sewn on very securely.
Cleaning this lunch sack is a breeze. Inside, is a fully removable, clear, plastic liner that sits inside(which is not pictured). When it needs to be cleaned, just pull it out, wipe down with a damp cloth and let air dry. The fabric portion can be machine washed and dried.
A perfect way to help you get a yummy lunch while being eco-friendly at the same time!
