I present to you a brand new sculpture from my series 'The Kiss, Homage to Rodin". It is completely first class, modern & contemporary all the way. Made of a single strand of Stainless steel it is shaped to reflect 2 beings intertwined in a romantic fashion. Note how the 2 shapes work together as masculine and feminum, locked together in embrace. It is a very sexy piece. At 28 inches tall it is very substantial. The sculpture is made of polished and intricately patterned custom etched stainless steel which I have formed and shaped by hand using time tested metal fabrication techniques and machinery. The curves are smooth and sleek. I have formed this piece in a manner which allows the viewer to see both sides and patterns simultaneously by the nature of the twists and curves of the piece. It will never change in color or texture, what it will do is reflect and refract light changing as the viewer shifts positions. I have tried to show the beauty of this piece using pics taken from various angles. No part of this piece will ever rust or deteriorate in outdoor conditions. Construction is 100% welded. It is signed and dated by the artist, Andre Tourrette

WHY STAINLESS STEEL??
Stainless steel is truely the ONLY metal used in sculpture which is resiliant to outdoor conditions, and it must be a good quality stainless to live up to that reputation. During the process of making stainless steel, the majority of the carbon, which is what makes regular steel rust, is left out. The higher grade of stainless, the less amount of carbon. I only use 304-L grade stainless, which is extreemly high in quality. I ship large pieces on a regular basis, it will arrive safely. It is signed and dated by the artist, Andre Tourrette

Andre Tourrette turned on a welding machine at the age of fifteen and never turned it off. Now, thirty years later, having made a living repairing everything from half full dumpsters to nuclear reactors on submarines while serving in the U.S.Navy, his desire to work with metal burns hotter than ever. The scope of the metal sculptures he creates ranges from one end of the spectrum to the other, which is synonymous with his imagination and personality.
The Brooklyn native works with a thought process which is the opposite of most sculptors. The end result is a product of whatever was on hand during the creation of the piece. Andre’s studio is the metal shop he makes his living at, where sculptures are created from leftover materials from 'real life' jobs. The material must be seen for what it is in order for the beauty to be drawn out from it. Everything you see is made from recyclable materials salvaged from the scrap bin. At times this is very obvious, most times it is not.
The majority of Andre's work is abstract. He does his best when there are no rules. When putting together sculptures or useful pieces of art such as furniture, the envelope is pushed to its limit concerning balance and gravity. Most of his works appear that they defying these principals.
Proud to have work collected across the earth, a few recent accomplishments include work being viewed in the Contemporary Art Museum in St Louis, galleries in Chicago, Brooklyn and Philadelphia, as well as a commission for The Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.
