This exquisite piece of furniture has been fashioned from select Cherry and Mahogany wood. The drawers were assembled with hand-cut dovetails using Mahogany as the primary material and Alder as the secondary. The drawer bottoms are made of Western White Pine. The pulls on the drawers are turned out of Gabon Ebony. The banding around the lower 3" of each leg was veneered with 8 separate pieces of dyed Black Costello. To complete the design I applied satin polyurethane and followed with paste wax to give the table a rich luster. Because of the unparalleled craftsmanship, this piece has been made to last for generations.
The table top is a usable 18" x 24" and is 28" high.
A final note about this particular piece: It won the blue ribbon for large wood projects at the 2010 California State Fair.
All pieces are signed and dated by the artist.
Whenever possible I buy my wood products only from suppliers who pledge to use sustained yield practices.
Note: The Cherry will darken with age. This is a natural process that happens with all items made with Cherry.
All of my items are crafted 100% by me.
